The Doula Fund
The Doula Fund was created by The Little Timmy Project to expand access to doula training and increase community-based birth support for families across Indiana. Our goal is to improve maternal and infant health outcomes by investing in doulas and the families they serve.
Research shows that birth parents supported by doulas experience better outcomes, including fewer medical interventions, healthier birth weights, and higher rates of breastfeeding. Representation in care also matters—when families are supported by providers who reflect their communities, health outcomes improve.
Through the Doula Fund, The Little Timmy Project works to remove barriers to doula training and strengthen the pipeline of Black and Brown birth workers serving communities most impacted by maternal and infant health disparities.
The Doula Fund Supports Three Key Programs:
Scholarships
Financial support for aspiring and current doulas to access professional training programs. Scholarship funds are paid directly to approved training providers to help remove financial barriers to entering the field.
Mentorships
Emerging doulas receive mentorship from experienced birth workers to help them build skills, confidence, and community connections as they begin their work supporting families.
Community Doula Services
The fund also supports free or low-cost community doula services for expecting parents facing financial barriers, ensuring families have access to compassionate, culturally responsive birth support.
